Bad effect on skin and hair for pollution

 Poisonous chemicals present in the air particles have an adverse effect on our body. It has a damaging effect on hair and skin which results in allergic problems. Also skin, the outermost shield of our body is more prone to harmful substances such as ultraviolet radiation and toxic chemicals. Although ultraviolet radiation is invisible to the human eye, most people are aware of the effects of UV on the skin such as suntan and sunburn. It is so harmful that it can be a cause for skin cancer. One of the major concerns for the health of the skin related to air pollution is skin cancer. Excessive exposure to ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation is closely allied with the growth of skin cancers.
Skin aging is another problem faced by woman and is a matter of concern to look young and have a healthy skin. Usually patients ask dermatologists for ways to prevent looking old because to diminish visible signs of aging. To reduce this problem, the current worldwide market for cosmetic and medical products are devoted to the prevention and treatment of skin aging .Researchers have observed that solar radiation and tobacco play major roles in the skin aging.
Environmental pollution such as cigarette smoke, car exhaust fumes, and smog, increases the levels of free radicals produced by the body. Free radicals harm the skin cells by encouraging collagen and elastin fibers to break down, thereby speeding up the aging process. Contaminants present in the air stick to your skin and can interfere with its ability to regulate moisture levels. This can make the skin dry and patchy, or block the pores, causing spots and blemishes. • Always apply a sunscreen with SPF 15 (or higher) before going outside
• Remove your makeup as early as possible as it clogs skin pores
• Include antioxidant-rich foods in your diet as it help to block free-radical activity in the body
• Keep your skin clean and wash your face thoroughly at night to wash off dust particles.
